  • Continental Qualifier

    The Continental Qualifier is a comprehensive assessment designed to evaluate participants' foundational knowledge and understanding of economics. The exam covers all three WEC modules: ​Fundamentals, Deep Comprehension, and Thinking & Innovation.

  • Continental & Final Rounds

    The Continental and Final Rounds consist of three modules: ​Fundamentals, Deep Comprehension, and Thinking & Innovation. Below is an overview of each module and preparation strategies.

    Fundamentals

    Format:​

    • 60-minute exam
    • 100 multiple-choice questions
    • Focus: Core economic principles and concepts

    Deep Comprehension

    Format:​
    This module consists of a ​lecture followed by an exam, with questions divided into three sections:

    1. Lecture-based questions​ (assessing immediate comprehension of the pre-exam lecture).
    2. Forefront-based questions​ (based on pre-distributed academic review materials).
    3. Material-based questions​ (requiring analysis of an on-the-spot reading).

    Preparation Tips:​

    • Lecture-based:​​ No prior preparation needed—focus on active listening and note-taking.
    • Forefront-based:​​ Thoroughly review the provided materials in advance (no access during the exam).
    • Material-based:​​ Strengthen your ability to analyze economic research by reading articles from sources like CEPR VoxEU.

    Thinking & Innovation

    Format:​
    Teams analyze a case study, apply economic frameworks, and present solutions via a ​video submission. The module includes:

    • Three short-answer questions
    • One problem-solving question
